For three months did the Masque::rade afford ample subject for conversationto the inhabitants of Pammydiddle; but nocharacter at it was so fully expatiatedon as Charles Adams. The singularity of hisappearance, the beams which darted fromhis eyes, the brightneſs of his Wit, & thewhole tout ensemble of his person had sub::dued the hearts of so many of the young Ladies, that of the six present at the Masquerade but five had returned uncap::tivated.
